The day before Sinkane joined Usher and The Afghan Whigs on stage at SXSW, he played a smaller, Filter magazine-sponsored show at Austin's Clive Bar. Luckily, our video crew was there to capture this live performance of "Jeeper Creeper."
There's a saunter to the music of Sinkane that feels breezy and a bit mysterious, like it's just a build-up to a hypnotic frenzy. That vibe is on display in this song, "Jeeper Creeper," performed on a perfect Thursday night at Clive Bar's Filter magazine-sponsored show during SXSW 2013 in Austin, Texas.
Ahmed Gallab — Sudanese-born, Ohio-raised — is a frequent collaborator, having played with Yeasayer, Of Montreal and Eleanor Friedberger before striking out on his own with last year's Mars. He usually helps out on drums, but here you'll spot Gallab on the right, sporting a striking hat and playing guitar. It's a brilliant performance, so take a look.
