The pride of Hoboken, N.J., and record collectors everywhere, Yo La Tengo is set to release its 13th studio album, Fade, on Jan. 15. The iconic indie-rock band visited World Cafe Live in Philadelphia on Friday to perform some of the best songs from the new record.

When Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley and James McNew played WXPN's XPoNential Music Festival in the summer of 2011, they paid tribute to Philadelphia music history by including members of Sun Ra's Arkestra in full regalia. On Friday, the nod was to Philly's Thom Bell and The Spinners, with a song that bears the same name as one from Fade, "I'll Be Around."

Set List

  • "Ohm"
  • "Cornelia and Jane"
  • "I'll Be Around"
  • "Is That Enough"
  • "Before We Run"
  • "I'll Be Around" (The Spinners cover)
