The genre-bending dance-rock producer can sound like David Bowie one moment and Carl Craig the next. Watch him perform "Earthforms," the first single from his new album Beams, on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic.

Drawing inspiration from diverse currents of alternative rock and electronic music, Matthew Dear is a true original. During his recent visit to the KCRW studios, he talked about trying to follow a more straightforward path, but "this is just what comes out." Good news, because it's a fresh and exciting dance-rock fusion.

Watch Dear perform "Earthforms" here, then catch our interview and the rest of his set at KCRW.com.
