Kat Edmonson On Mountain Stage

Originally from Houston, the singer relocated to Austin, where her classic jazz-inspired vocals made her one of the town's most talked about musicians. Edmonson is followed by house pianist Bob Thompson, with his reworking of the Beatles tune "Here Comes the Sun."

Kat Edmonson makes her first appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded on the campus of West Virginia University in Morgantown. Originally from Houston, Edmonson relocated to Austin, where her classic jazz-inspired singing soon made her one of the town's most talked about musicians.

She released her debut album Take to the Sky in 2009, which lead to gigs singing alongside such icons as Willie Nelson and recording "Baby, It's Cold Outside" with Lyle Lovett. Her follow-up, Way Down Low, featured another collaboration with Lovett. Produced and engineered by studio legend Al Schmitt, it debuted at number one on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. She's backed here by guitarist Steve Elliot.

Edmonson is followed by Mountain Stage band pianist Bob Thompson, with his reworking of the George Harrison-penned Beatles tune "Here Comes the Sun."
