Governor SARAH PALIN (Republican, Alaska; Republican Vice Presidential Candidate): Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!
LIANE HANSEN, host:
That's Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Her appearance on last night's show also included a scene with executive producer Lorne Michaels. She had this reaction to Tina Fey's impression of her.

Governor PALIN: You know, I just didn't think it was a realistic depiction of the way my press conferences would have gone.
Mr. LORNE MICHAELS (Executive Producer, "Saturday Night Live"): Yes, but it's obviously a heightened reality.
Governor PALIN: Why can't we have done the "30 Rock" sketch that I wrote?
Mr. MICHAELS: Honestly, not enough people know that show.
(Soundbite of laughter)
HANSEN: Then Tina Fey's "30 Rock" co-star Alec Baldwin entered. He thought Palin was Fey and made some critical remarks about the governor. When the mistake was pointed out, Baldwin quickly recovered.

Mr. ALEC BALDWIN (Actor): You are way hotter in person.
(Soundbite of laughter)
Governor PALIN: Why, thank you.
Mr. BALDWIN: I mean, seriously. I mean, I can't believe they let her, you know, play you.

Ms. TINA FEY (Writer; Comedian; Actress; Producer): (As Governor Sarah Palin) I just want to say how excited I am to be in front of both the liberal elite media as well as the liberal regular media.
(Soundbite of laughter)
Ms. FEY: (As Governor Sarah Palin) I am looking forward to a portion of your questions. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
