Classical New England's weekly music festival travelogue heads to the southern Vermont, where amateur players join with professionals to create chamber music in the Green Mountains.
To hear the program, click on "Listen" above, and see a slideshow from festival performances below.
In picturesque southern Vermont, the Bennington Chamber Music Conference is a unique chamber music experience. With a focus on amateur and semi-professional musicians, the conference provides a rare and luxurious full-immersion experience for those whose vocations have taken them outside the musical arena.
Faculty members from top ensembles like the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center are on hand to facilitate new levels of expression and musicianship among the participants. The faculty also presents a concert series during the conference, which has twice won Adventurous Programming Awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).
