New Schedule for 99.5 All Classical


Beginning Saturday, Aug. 21, 99.5 brings you a new voice as James David Jacobs joins the team to fill your weekend mornings with classical music, 7-11am. On weekdays, Laura Carlo continues with music to start your day, 5-9am, and Cathy Fuller joins you with more music, 9am-1pm. Then, Brian McCreath brings you classical music for the afternoon, 1-4pm, and Ray Brown joins you for the late afternoon and early evening, 4-8pm.

Tanglewood on 99.5

 

The Tanglewood season is on 99.5 All Classical every weekend, Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. See schedules, and hear features and interviews from BSO producer Brian Bell.

Live from Fraser | St. Lawrence String Quartet

Thursday, Sept. 9, 7pm on 99.5 All Classical

 

The St. Lawrence String Quartet brings its take-no-prisoners style to the Fraser Performance Studio for music by Haydn and Ravel, and a new piece written for the ensemble by American composer John Adams.

Boston Symphony Orchestra | Swan Lake and the Jupiter

Saturday, Sept. 11 at 7pm on 99.5 All Classical

 

The Boston Symphony Orchestra performs excerpts from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake with conductor Seiji Ozawa, and James Levine leads the orchestra in Mozart's Symphony No. 41, the "Jupiter," and Brahms's A German Requiem, with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.

The Bach Hour

Sundays, 8-9pm, on 99.5 All Classical

The Bach Hour features the Cantata No. 78 (translation) in a performance conducted by Masaaki Suzuki, and Vladimir Ashkenazy performs the Keyboard Partita No. 2.

The Chiara String Quartet

The Chiara String Quartet, artists-in-residence at Harvard University, has embarked on a series of concerts featuring all Beethoven's String Quartets. We'll hear his String Quartet in D major, Op. 18 No. 3 and the Heiliger Dankgesang (Holy song of thanksgiving) from his String Quartet Op. 132.
