Cathy Fuller welcomes Boston Camerata, presenting selections from "The Maria Monologues," an exploration of the "eternal feminine” in the Middle Ages. This collection of songs and poems centers around two women named Mary in the Bible: Mary Magdalene and Mary the Mother. These pieces are performed by three women singers: Deborah Rentz-Moore, Lydia Brotherton, and Boston Camerata's artistic director, Anne Azema (shown).

This episode focuses on the extraordinary career of Greek diva Maria Callas, as well as Agnes Baltsa and Australian Dame Nellie Melba. We hear Callas with students, teaching a master class at the Juilliard School in New York City, and in an interview.
